Are You a Master Chef?

I was at a conference recently, and one of the speakers said something that resonated with me.  He said, “A master chef can whip up a great meal with whatever ingredients are at hand.”

I really liked that.

Today’s culture is preoccupied with pointing fingers and placing blame.  I can’t succeed because…

“The room is too hot.”

“The room is too cold.”

“The lights are dim.”

“I don’t have the right tools to do the job.”

“He (or she) is keeping me from doing this or that.”

It’s always something for these people.  They have no interest in becoming a Master Chef.  They’d rather whine, complain and underachieve than learn the things that Master Chef’s know.  How about you?  Are you allowing yourself to make excuses?  Life isn’t perfect.  The “right” ingredients are rarely all present.  You can point fingers, place blame and live in mediocrity, or you can work at becoming a Master Chef.

The choice is yours.
